The Business & Career Center is part of NYC Department of Small Services’ Immigrant Business Initiative and has been funded to work with Haitians and Kreyol speaking immigrants who want to start their own business. Our goal is to make sure immigrants who make such a valuable contribution to the city’s economy are given the opportunity and the support they need to become entrepreneurs.
The program is offered in both Haitian Creole and English. Contestants will learn how to write a business plan by attending classes and will receive business counseling. Interested Kreyol speakers must attend an information session, please see below for dates, times and locations.
Who Can I Enter?
To enter you must be Haitian or Kreyol speaking.

What Is the Prize?
Three winners will receive cash awards for entering the best plans.
$5,000 for first place, $3,000 for second place, and $2,000 for third place.
What Do I Have to Do to Participate?
You must be 18 years of age or older, Haitian born or speak Kreyol, live in Brooklyn and want to start a business in Brooklyn.
You must apply to the competition, get a Brooklyn Public Library card,
see a business advisor and attend a few classes.
How Can I Apply?
You must attend one information session in January or February 2017 to apply.
