Sunday, March 21, 2015 – 71 Young Professionals Graduated from Hotel & Tourism Management

 


The Haitian Government through The Minister of Tourism and  Creative Industries have accomplished a goal that started 3 years ago. On Sunday, March 21, 2015 the very first graduating class Hotel and Tourism Management received their degree and 71 young professionals are well educated and ready to start working in the Tourism Industry which is booming in Haiti.

“71 young people from the Institute of Hotel and Tourism Training of Les Cayes (IFORHT South), the first  School of  Hotel and Tourism  outside Port-au-Prince, received their degrees after two years of training in end a ceremony held Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the local Departmental Directorate of Tourism South.

“The South, once again, expressed its enormous potential to be a large pool of Tourism in the Country. I am delighted after starting the IFORHT with the President of the Republic  Mr. Michel Joseph Martelly, to see today this first promotion of the School completed his studies, “said Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries.

 

In addition, Ms. Villedrouin congratulated the dynamism of its departmental Director of the South, Karine Conde, who has combined efforts to realize this project in the city of Les Cayes for the entire South Coast region.

For his part, the former President of the Tourism Association of Haiti, Godfather of the first group of students trained by the South IFORHT emphasized the importance of training in the tourism industry. “I welcome you to the world’s largest dear young tourism. “M.Buteau supported.

Journalist-Entrepreneur and owner of the hotel to the decline Camperrin Mr. Valery Numa, also praised the initiative to train young Southern Hospitality and Tourism in the South. Mr. Numa praised the professionalism has shown these young graduates of the IFORHT during their internships at his hotel.

Note that the Training Institute of Hotel and Tourism of Les Cayes works in two shifts (morning and evening), with a curriculum offering general courses on the hospitality and tourism. By the academic year 2015-2016, the South IFORHT provide students specializations in kitchen pastry and bakery. By April 2015, foreign language courses will be added to the curriculum of the Institute.

lets be mindful that the training of tourism personnel is part of the policy implemented by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries  in the sector reveals a non-negligible axis. The creation  of the South IFORHT in 2013 is to decentralize the hotel and tourism training is a tangible proof.”
