The Haitian American Business Summit is Here

The Haitian American Chamber of Commerce of Florida (HACCOF) and the Office of MiamiDade
Commissioner Jean Monestime announce Banque de la République d’Haïti, (BRH) as a
title sponsor for the Haitian American Business Summit (HABS-2017) being held June 16th to
17th, 2017 at Florida International University’s Kovens Conference Center.

The Haitian American Business Summit (HABS-2017) will provide an opportunity to evaluate
and assess the current level of diaspora involvement in Haiti and explore new methods of
interaction. HABS-2017 Miami will serve as a platform for Haitian American organizations
throughout the United States, professional associations along with public & private sectors of
Haiti to exchange ideas and establish a working plan toward greater cooperation. HABS-2017
Miami will provide the arena for the Haitian American community to connect, engage and
explore opportunities to invest in Haiti. HABS-Miami 2017 will feature keynote speakers
including high-level Haitian government officials, leaders of the Haitian financial community
and United States elected officials.

During this prestigious event, the Banque de la République d’Haïti will present :
 An overview of the macroeconomic framework of Haïti;
 A description of its legal mandates;
 Monetary, financial and payment mechanisms designed to facilitate private investment
and alternative use of the diaspora contribution towards value-added projects to
stimulate long term economic growth, massive job creations, investment opportunities
and an enlargement of the fiscal base;
 Various initiatives designed to mitigate risks in highly potential or competitive economic
 Its actions in the public policy framework designed to boost economic growth through
private investment.


On Saturday, June 17th during the closing ceremony, HACCOF will honor the second annual
Top 20 under 40 Haitian American Young Professionals (YOPRO) for their commitment and
contributions to the South Florida community. Recipients for the 2017 YOPRO awards will be
announced in mid-May.
This two day summit is open to the public. Pre-registration is required and tickets can be
